The World’s Largest Spiritual Gathering
27 March – 27 May 2028
14 Crore+ Pilgrims Expected
Once in 12 Years
Shipra River, Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh, India)
Every twelve years, when the planet Jupiter enters the zodiac sign of Leo (Simha Rashi) and aligns with the Sun in Aries, the sacred city of Ujjain – abode of Lord Mahakaleshwar – awakens for the greatest spiritual congregation on Earth: the Simhastha Maha Kumbh Mela. In 2028, from 27 March to 27 May, over 14 crore (140 million) pilgrims from across the world will bathe on the sacred banks of the Shipra River – believing a single holy dip washes away the sins of many lifetimes and opens the door to Moksha (ultimate liberation).
This is not just an event. It is a rare cosmic alignment that happens only once in 12 years – and the next Ujjain Kumbh after 2028 will be held only in 2040. For a pilgrim, missing this is missing a lifetime.

“City of Mahakal”
When the Devas and Asuras churned the cosmic ocean (Samudra Manthan) to obtain the nectar of immortality (Amrit), a celestial struggle followed. As Garuda carried the sacred Kumbh (pot) across the skies, four drops of Amrit fell upon the earth – at Prayagraj, Haridwar, Nashik, and Ujjain. Today, these four locations host the Kumbh Mela in rotation. Bathing at Ujjain’s Shipra River during Simhastha is believed to grant the same spiritual merit that the Devas themselves sought.
Mark these sacred dates in your calendar. The three Amrit Snans (Royal Baths) are the spiritual peak – when lakhs of Naga Sadhus from the 13 Akharas lead grand processions into the Shipra River before the general devotees. These are the most auspicious moments to take the holy dip.

Ujjain is not merely a city – it is a living, breathing mandala of Lord Shiva. Known in ancient scriptures as Avantika, it is one of the seven holiest cities (Sapta Puri) of Hinduism, alongside Ayodhya, Mathura, Haridwar, Kashi, Kanchi and Dwarka. Here, time itself is said to originate – which is why Lord Shiva is worshipped as Mahakal, the Lord of Time.
Take the sacred plunge at the Ram Ghat, Mangalnath Ghat or the newly developed Triveni Ghat alongside millions of devotees. Our team escorts you to the safest, least crowded bathing point, arranges changing rooms, keeps your belongings secure, and guides you through the complete Sankalp-Snan-Daan ritual with a learned pandit.
Witness the unforgettable spectacle of the 13 Akharas – the ancient orders of Sadhus – entering the mela with elephants, horses, chariots, bands and saffron flags. The Naga Sadhus, covered in sacred ash, wielding tridents, are a living link to a 2,000-year-old ascetic tradition. Peshwai processions for each Akhara are scheduled in the weeks before the main Snans.
Listen to discourses by India’s most revered saints – Shankaracharyas, Mahamandaleshwars, and spiritual masters from every tradition. Participate in Rudrabhishek, Maha Mrityunjay Jaap, Navgrah Shanti, Kaal Sarp Dosh Nivaran, and Pitra Tarpan – rituals performed with especially high potency during Kumbh.
Each evening, the banks of the Shipra come alive with bhajan-sandhyas, Ram Leela performances, classical dance, folk music of Malwa, and the world-famous Shipra Maha Aarti – a mesmerising 50-minute ritual with giant oil lamps, conch shells, drums and Vedic chants echoing across the river.
Well-organised tent cities with Swiss cottages, AC deluxe tents, attached bathrooms, satvik dining halls, 24×7 security, ambulance on stand-by, lost-and-found help desks, Wi-Fi zones, ATMs and mobile charging points. Our camps are located within easy walking distance of the main bathing ghats.

Simhastha Maha Kumbh Mela 2028 runs from 27 March 2028 to 27 May 2028 – officially confirmed by the Government of Madhya Pradesh. The three grand Amrit Snans fall on 22 April, 06 May and 09 May 2028.
All four are authentic Kumbh sites. However, Ujjain Simhastha occurs only when Jupiter enters Leo (Simha Rashi) – the name itself means ‘when Jupiter is in Simha’. It is the only Kumbh held on the Shipra River, at the city of Lord Mahakaleshwar, the only south-facing Jyotirlinga. Each Kumbh has its own unique spiritual flavour.
Yes – absolutely free. You simply share your preferred dates, group size and package preference. We block the accommodation in your name. No payment is taken now. Full balance is due only from April 2027. If you need to cancel before April 2027, there is zero cancellation fee.
For senior citizens, we recommend the Parva Snan dates (less crowded) rather than the three main Amrit Snans. We provide dedicated wheelchair support, separate quieter bathing points, slow-paced darshan options, and a personal escort throughout. Medical team is on standby 24×7.
Absolutely. Thousands of international pilgrims attend every Kumbh. You need a valid Indian tourist visa. We provide multi-language guides (English, Thai, Japanese, Nepali, Sinhala), assist with visa invitation letters if needed, and ensure culturally-sensitive support for all foreign guests.
The Bhasma Aarti pass is issued by the Mahakaleshwar Temple Trust directly and has very limited daily availability. We assist all our guests with the official online booking at an additional nominal cost – we have 25+ years of successful pass-assistance track record. During Kumbh, the demand is very high, so early booking is crucial.
Throughout the Kumbh zone, only pure Satvik vegetarian food is served. This includes North Indian thali, South Indian, Gujarati, Rajasthani and Jain options. No onion, garlic, alcohol, meat, eggs or fish are served or permitted inside our camps – in keeping with the sacred nature of the gathering.
All our camps have a doctor-on-call 24×7. We have direct tie-ups with leading Ujjain hospitals (CHL Hospital, Ujjain Charitable Trust Hospital, RD Gardi Medical College). The Government has set up 100+ medical camps across the Mela grounds. Travel insurance is strongly recommended.
Yes – this is our speciality.
