7 Days Rajasthan Tour Package – Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Jaipur – the Pink City

Our representative welcomes you at Jaipur airport or railway station and takes you to your hotel. After rest, enjoy an easy evening visit.

Jaipur was built in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. It was one of the first planned cities in India, with wide straight roads and markets laid out in neat blocks. In 1876 the city was painted pink to welcome the Prince of Wales, and the colour stayed. Today the old walled city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On this first evening there is no rush. Rest after your journey, enjoy a simple dinner and get ready for the royal days ahead. Our team will brief you on the plan for the full Jaipur Jodhpur Udaipur tour.

Overnight: Jaipur

Day 2: Jaipur Sightseeing – Amber Fort and City Palace

A full day in Jaipur with an English-speaking local guide.

Start early to reach Amber Fort before the crowds. The fort sits on a hill above Maota Lake and was the home of the Kachwaha kings for more than 150 years. Walk through its courtyards, gates and the Sheesh Mahal, where thousands of small mirrors shine even with a single candle. After lunch, visit the City Palace, part of which is still home to the royal family.

Jantar Mantar is next door. Its giant stone instruments were built to measure time and follow the stars, and the large sundial is still accurate today. End the day with a photo stop in front of the Hawa Mahal, whose 953 small windows let royal ladies watch street life without being seen.

Overnight: Jaipur

Day 3: Jaipur to Jodhpur – the Blue City

After breakfast, drive to Jodhpur (about 340 km, 6 hours). The road passes villages and dry desert land. Check in and relax in the evening.

The drive to Jodhpur takes you west towards the Thar Desert. The land becomes drier and the villages more colourful, with women in bright red and yellow clothes and men in large turbans. We stop for tea and lunch at clean roadside restaurants. This is a good time to rest, look out of the window and see daily life in rural Rajasthan. You reach Jodhpur in the afternoon. In the evening, you may see the great fort lit up on its hill above the city.

Overnight: Jodhpur

Day 4: Jodhpur Sightseeing – Mehrangarh Fort

Today you explore Jodhpur with a local guide.

Mehrangarh Fort was founded in 1459 by Rao Jodha, the king who gave Jodhpur its name. Its walls rise about 120 metres above the city. Inside are beautiful palaces, a fine museum of royal palanquins, weapons and paintings, and wide views over the blue houses below. Nearby is Jaswant Thada, a peaceful white marble memorial with lovely carved windows. Later, visit the museum wing of Umaid Bhawan Palace, one of the largest private homes in the world. End the day in the busy Sardar Market near the Clock Tower, famous for spices, textiles and silver.

Overnight: Jodhpur

Day 5: Jodhpur to Udaipur via Ranakpur

Drive to Udaipur (about 250 km). On the way, visit the Ranakpur Jain Temple, famous for its 1,444 carved marble pillars. Please dress modestly, and leather items are not allowed inside. Reach Udaipur by evening.

Ranakpur Jain Temple was built in the 15th century from white marble. It has 1,444 carved pillars, and it is said that no two are the same. The temple stands in a quiet green valley in the Aravalli Hills, and its calm feeling is loved by visitors of all faiths. Please remove shoes and leather items before entering. After the visit, drive through the hills to Udaipur. In the evening, enjoy dinner with a view of the lake lights.

Overnight: Udaipur

Day 6: Udaipur – the City of Lakes

Udaipur is called the most romantic city in India. Enjoy a full day here.

Udaipur was founded in 1559 by Maharana Udai Singh II of Mewar. The City Palace is the largest palace complex in Rajasthan, built over 400 years by many kings. From its balconies you see Lake Pichola, the white Lake Palace floating in the water and the Aravalli Hills all around. After lunch, visit the Jagdish Temple and the green Saheliyon Ki Bari garden with its fountains and lotus pools.

Your sunset boat ride on Lake Pichola is the highlight of the Jaipur Jodhpur Udaipur tour. In the evening, the folk dance show at Bagore Ki Haveli shows the music, puppets and dances of Rajasthan.

Overnight: Udaipur

Day 7: Departure from Udaipur

After breakfast, free time for shopping. Transfer to Udaipur airport or railway station for your onward journey. Your Jaipur Jodhpur Udaipur tour ends with happy memories of royal Rajasthan.

If time allows before your flight or train, walk through the old city lanes to buy miniature paintings, silver jewellery and colourful textiles. Udaipur airport has daily flights to Delhi and Mumbai, so it is easy to connect to your international flight home.

About Rajasthan – the Land of Kings

Rajasthan is the largest state in India. Its name means “land of kings”. For hundreds of years it was ruled by the Rajput clans, brave warrior families who built mighty forts on hilltops and beautiful palaces beside lakes. Each city on this Jaipur Jodhpur Udaipur tour was the capital of a different royal family: the Kachwahas of Jaipur, the Rathores of Jodhpur and the Sisodias of Mewar in Udaipur.

Rajasthan is also a land of colour. You will see bright turbans, mirror-work clothes, painted doors, camels and peacocks. Rajasthani food is rich and tasty. Try dal baati churma, gatte ki sabzi, laal maas for non-vegetarians and sweet ghewar. Vegetarian food is easy to find in every city, and our team can arrange Thai-friendly or less spicy meals on request.

Six of the great hill forts of Rajasthan, including Amber Fort, are listed together by UNESCO as World Heritage. The Jantar Mantar and the walled city of Jaipur are also on the UNESCO list.

How to Reach Jaipur and Leave from Udaipur

Jaipur International Airport has flights from Delhi, Mumbai and other Indian cities. From Bangkok, the easiest way is to fly to Delhi and then take a 1-hour flight or a 5-hour drive to Jaipur. At the end, Udaipur airport has flights to Delhi and Mumbai for your journey home.

Shopping and Souvenirs in Rajasthan

Rajasthan is a paradise for shoppers. In Jaipur, look for blue pottery, block-printed cotton, gemstones and silver jewellery in Johari Bazaar and Bapu Bazaar. Jaipur is one of the biggest gem-cutting centres in the world, so buy only from trusted shops with certificates. Our guide can suggest good places.

In Jodhpur, the Sardar Market near the Clock Tower sells spices, tie-dye bandhani scarves, leather shoes called mojari and old-style wooden furniture. Many guests buy packets of Rajasthani spices to cook at home.

In Udaipur, the lanes near the City Palace are full of miniature painting studios. Artists paint with very fine brushes, sometimes made with a single hair, and you can watch them at work. Udaipur also sells puppets, marble boxes and silver items. Always ask the price first and bargain politely in the street markets. Fixed-price government emporiums are also available in every city.

Please keep receipts for expensive items, and check your airline baggage limits before you buy heavy gifts. On request, we can help you arrange courier shipping from trusted shops.

If you love textiles, ask us to add a short visit to Sanganer or Bagru near Jaipur, where families still print cloth by hand with carved wooden blocks and natural colours. It is a quiet, interesting half-day and a lovely way to meet local craftspeople.
